Course Information:
Hearing Conservation Courses are designed to train personnel who are or will be conducting audiometric testing, those who are actively involved in hearing conservation, and those who supervise hearing conservation programs.
These courses meet the requirements of the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) and will cover all the required hearing conservation topics that will lead to CAOHC certification. Attendees will be taught how to perform an audiometric hearing test and how to fit employees with hearing protection. To achieve certification, students must pass a computer-based examination at the conclusion of the course (which will be conducted during class time after a thorough review). If a re-test is needed, this will be coordinated between the student and the instructor (no additional fee)
- Initial certification courses are typically 2 ½ days (20 hours) and recertification courses are 1 day (8hours).
- Recertification is required every 5 years after the initial certification.
Fully Virtual Courses
Fully virtual certification and recertification courses are available. The lectures, practicums, and exam will be administered in a virtual format, with no in-person requirement.
